Fozzie in Kyoto

During his last two trips to Japan, Fozzie only made it to Tokyo. Now he finally had the chance to visit the city that used to be the country’s capital until 1869. Even Japanese dress in traditonal clothes to take pictures at all those beautiful shrines and temples. Why shouldn’t Fozzie? Watch him wearing a kimono in Kyoto.

- If you ride the Shinkansen bullet train, make sure you have a seat reservation.

- I sat on the right side of the train to see iconic Mount Fuji.

- Higashiyama-ku is probably the nicest part of the city.

- The Fushimi Inari Shrine has thousands of vermilion torii gates, but just as many steps too.

- No, this is not a temple. This is just the gate to the temple. But it’s the biggest of its kind in Japan.

- It’s just a ticket, but it looks so Japanese to me.

- An orange bear in front of an orange temple gate. Can you spot me?

- At those fountains you can purify yourself before you go into a temple. Rinse your mouth!

- Sorry, I don’t have toes. I can’t wear those traditional sandals.

- When everyone had left for dinner, I finally had this place to myself.

- Those Nama Yatsuhashi sweets are a nice souvenir for friends and family. But they didn’t make it till home. I ate them all on the train.
