Fozzie in Bishkek
July 2016
After being surrounded by a little too many tourists lately, Fozzie decides to explore a place that doesn’t see too many foreign guests. Which is a pity, because he was warmly welcomed by the Kyrgyz people and very impressed by the beautiful Tian Shan mountains that form the scenic backdrop for the capital city of Bishkek. - Alright, let’s mingle with the locals.
- The fountains at the many public parks cool people pleasantly down.
- If you are just far enough from the eternal flame at the Victory Monument it can’t do any harm.
- Always blend in with the locals? How do you like my traditional “kalpak” headgear?
- I wonder if the boy can tell that I am not a native Kyrgyz.
- Just in case you didn’t know the national flag yet.
- Is this a flying saucer that landed here? Oh, no, it’s the national circus.
- Ala-Too is the city’s main square.
- This is Ala-Archa National Park just outside the city.
- Pheeew, hiking can be exhausting. But very beautiful too.
Really haven’t seen the national flag of Bishkek before. 🙂
The nature is really beautiful. Especially the color of the river and the sunshine through the trees.
