Fozzie in Hanoi
December 2018
“Good morning, Vietnam.” While this famous 1987 movie was set in Saigon, Fozzie’s last trip in 2018 starts in the capital Hanoi. The city is famous for its Old Quarter. For a bear with short legs it can be quite challenging to cross the roads. The city is full of scooters that find their way through the narrow streets. The sidewalks serve as restaurants in the evening. Life takes place in the streets. With Fozzie right in the center of it all. Fozzie in Hanoi.
- Some countries like to have a tall flag pole. Hanoi even has a historic flag tower.
- A mausoleum really seems to be a very communist thing. I have hardly seen it anywhere else.
- Who needs a fancy restaurant when the best food is served in the streets? Join the locals, just like I do.
- It’s amazing how I can balance on the tracks of Hanoi’s famous train street. Even the chicken are impressed.
- Tickets serve as a great souvenir when you return home. Always keep them!
- The city has two large lakes. Both have some nice pagodas.
- At nighttime Hoan Kiem Lake looks probably even more beautiful than during daytime.
- Vietnam won some soccer cup when I was there and everyone went crazy.
