Fozzie in Iceland
May 2022
Fozzie has been to a lot of beautiful places with names that are difficult to pronouce, but this new destination brings it to a whole new level. You think you know how to master the name of the volcano Eyjafjallajökull, which caused so much disruption to air traffic in 2010? Then try Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Úlfljótsvatnskirkja or Fjaðrárgljúfur for a change.
But no worries, Fozzie was allowed to enter the country with even his basic knowledge of this difficult language. He knows that the locals call their island Ísland. Others might call it the Land of Fire and Ice.
Either way, it’s a magical place. A landscape that is wild and romantic at the same time: steep cliffs, narrow fjords, deep gorges, extensive glaciers, a black-sand beach and plenty of volcanoes and waterfalls.
No need to read about all this in sagas from the past. Fozzie went there and was greeted with a warm Velkomin til ĺslands. Here is what he has seen: Fozzie in Iceland.
- People don’t use paper maps anymore. But they can still protect you from the rain.
- Let me add some colour to a grey day.
- Everyone say Fjaðrárgljúfur!
- Hello? Does anybody still live here?
- Sightseeing from inside the car is just an option when the rain would wash away a small bear.
- The blue lagoon looks a bit white today.
- oh, hello, little dandelion. Summer is near.
- There is no such thing as bad weather. Besides, some good rain gear makes you the canary on a black beach.
- So many waterfalls. I can’t decide which is the most impressive one.
- Look at this glacier. I hope it will still be there in a couple of years.
- Nothing says it better: Fozzie in Iceland!
- Did you know? Geysir is actually an Icelandic word!
- I wonder who mows the grass of the roof?
- This moss is so soft, I could actually fall asleep here right away.
- Can you hear the waterfall?
