Fozzie in Lisbon
September 2019
Lisbon has something for everyone: For the geography nerds among you it is the westernmost capital city on Continental Europe. To all the food lovers: you can’t leave the Portuguese capital without having tried some of the famous Pastéis de Belém custard tarts. And if you love trams, well, don’t miss to hop onto line 28 to ride through historic Alfama district. Do I have to mention the fado or the typical white and blue Azulejos tiles? Just a few out of many reasons to visit Lisbon. Fozzie has found some more: Fozzie in Lisbon.
- Can you think of a better place to enjoy real Pastéis de Belém than near the Torre de Belém?
- This is the Monument of the Discoveries. I feel that I deserve to have my own sculpture between all of those figures.
- Hey, wait for me. I have short legs, I can’t run fast.
- You need to learn one word in Portuguese: Miradouro – viewpoint. The city has so many of them. Great views in every direction.
- This is what you get when you combine San Francisco with Rio de Janeiro. But it is still: Fozzie in Lisbon.
- Is it because I am so small, or is this really a huge square?
- Azulejos – those painted ceramic tiles. You find them everywhere here.
- You think this is a tram? Not quite. It is more of a funicular. Either way, beautiful too.
- Some people say that Lisbon only comes to life after sunset. I don’t care. Sunset itself is already a perfect moment here.
